The new chat is rolling out in the iOS App and Web App today, with an Android update coming "soon".

Chat supports end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for both messages and files, as pointed out by The Verge, "A support page notes that this doesn’t cover message metadata - such as who received it, or when it was sent".

The Service also features "Disappearing Messages" slimier to Thread's Ghost Posts, which can be set to automatically delete after a set time. Users can also receive a notification when a chat is screenshotted or block screenshotting chats messages.

Messages can be both edited and deleted, and voice and video calls are supported, with voice notes coming in the future.
